Hailing from Brighton Youth Sector’s music is a coiled spring of urgency and unpredictable energy; while lyrically offering a sense of catharsis for the confusion of modern adult life.

Taking influence from art school greats DEVO and Talking Heads, the Brighton 5 piece never revel in bleakness, managing to twist everyday narratives into music that is quite the opposite being upbeat, full of energy and with irresistible choruses you can’t help but sing along with.

Championed by the likes of Clash, DIY, Dork, Line Of Best Fit with multiple BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music plays, the band have toured and played shows alongside Kaiser Chiefs, Darwin Deez, Goat Girl and Courting as well as picking up a bunch of UK and EU festivals and playing SXSW in 2023.

Having supported bands such as The Libertines, The Sherlocks, King Prawn & more, these guys are worth checking out!

After storming onto the local scene, and finishing runners up in this years D’Olby’s SoundClash (battle of the bands) competition here at Olby’s, this young band have gone from strength to strength, so we asked them to come back for this one!

aKadem produce a hard hitting blend of indie & rock, coupled with strong soulful vocals and riffs that’ll get stuck in your head, a real joy to watch, so get down early and support the supports!
