YESTERDAY’S FAVOURITE & OLBY’S PRESENTS
NANCY NOISE, RICKY COX, EDDIE PILLeR & DEAN THATCHER
Nancy Noise should need little introduction. She’s an Ibiza veteran and one of the true originals.
She first visited Ibiza in the 80’s which created a love affair that continues to this day. During the summers of ’86 and ’87 her home was the club Amnesia where she spent long nights dancing in front of the speakers to the sounds of Leo Mas and Alfredo, often venturing up to ask what the record was they had just played. If you ask Nancy what made Amnesia special, she’ll tell you, “it was the music, the vibe, dancing under the stars all night long and that eclectic mix played the right way that worked so perfectly” Amen!
Eddie Piller… DJ, radio show host, author, and founder/managing director of Acid Jazz Records.
Alongside Gilles Peterson, Piller started Acid Jazz Records in 1987. Signing James Taylor Quartet, the label included Corduroy, Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai, Galliano, and Mother Earth, a defining sound of the late ’80s and ’90s.
Later that decade, Piller purchased a run down ex jazz club which he transformed into the legendary Blue Note Club. Eddie was is his element hosting radio shows for Jazz FM, BBC Radio London and Radio 2.
Piller continues to be influential in the music scene due to his many live DJing appearances. He is a regular at most British festivals and usually appears at the Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, and Bestival…
We are honoured to have Eddie join us for what promises to be a magical journey through 60’s and 70’s Soul with a sprinkling of Acid Jazz..
Dean Thatcher started DJing and hosting soul nights back in the 80’s with Simon Dumore, he flew into balearic and the acid house scene with best mate and legendary club promoter Charlie Chester and Brandon Block forming the legendary Flying club night and record shop…
Into the 90’s he toured the world with his band The Aloof before going back to his roots, soul and reggae. These days Dean lives locally and we are super excited to hear his eclectic mix of “ whatever takes his fancy as long as it’s a good record “
